Blow Wind Blow

About:

Blow Wind Blow is a multiplayer game that is both cooperative and competitive. Each player controls one of the four cardinal winds by blowing into a microphone. Together, the winds direct an adventurer across the world as he sails from island to island, while competing with each other to become the prevailing wind with the most predominance in the story.

Create a project that is able to tell a narrative in a unique and interesting way.

UX Goal:

Because Blow Wind Blow is both cooperative and competitive, the main UX goal was to make three things instantly clear for four players at once:

Physical Controller as the Core Interface:

I designed and built a custom 4-player “blow” controller so the input method matched the fantasy of controlling wind. Each player had a dedicated station mapped to one cardinal direction, creating clear ownership and reducing confusion during play. The interface was intentionally simple: players don’t need to learn buttons or complex gestures, they only need to understand “blow to control ship.”
